He has to accept payscam or his contract thru the ebay venue is not enforceable and he risks non-performing seller strikes in addition to his negative feedback.
Payscam is clearly shown as an accepted form of payment in the auction, and any dispute will be awarded accordingly.
I have to accept payscam to sell on ebay, i have to pay the fees, that seller is not exempt.

Sorry, i was ranting a bit. I hate ebay's payment rules just like that seller does. But i know that if i put that statement in one of my auctions, the auction will most likely be cancelled by ebay and i forfeit my fees for policy violation. The auction most certainly get's cancelled if a viewer sees it and whines to ebay via their reporting system.
I most definitely think you should be allowed to accept whatever forms of payment you are agreeable to. My point i guess was that this guy is violating the terms specifically to circumvent fees. If i was really interested in what he's selling, i'd make an offer that was based partly on what he's going to save in paypal fees. He'd either accept or decline, plenty of fish in that sea.

If I'm not mistaken Ebay cannot force a buyer to pay with paypal if the seller and buyer agree. Bowtie is right in that Ebay would throw a fit if someone turned the buyer in about his little statement in his auction and if a buyer who won the auction chose to pay with Paypal the seller would have to accept that form of payment. Many times I do cash on pickup as both a buyer and a seller and have never had a problem with Ebay, however I don't blatantly advertise it in the ad as this seller did.
It seems too that the buyer would have fewer avenues of recourse in the event of a defective/deceptive product..... As well as an opportunity to be ripped off. "an ounce of caution...."

Just wanted to close the book on this thread... had to wait til today to do so though.
This seller is definately NOT a scammer. I won the auction after having a few great phone conversations with the seller. One of the highlights of the transaction was he drove 8 hours from his home in SW Ohio to hand deliver the speakers to me in Harrisburg Pa which is two hours from my home for an extra $100. He was going to come all the way to my house but I couldn't let him do that. The best part is that the speakers upon closer inspection and cleaning (I just got home a half hour ago) are in really superb condition! both same manufacturers date stamp original cones and all coils are about an exact match from speaker to speaker. These speakers belonged to his grandfather (now deceased) who owned a hi fi shop in the late 50's this was the back up pair to match the ones he used. He never did get to use these apparently. The seller was just given these by his grandmother to sell. Overall one of the better transactions I have had with a very nice guy..
Thanks, I'm excited it's my first pair of 604's and in the 606 cabinets they sound fantastic, even with the stock dividing network.
